I joined the Pitt faculty in the Fall of 2008 after completing my Ph.D. at the University of Memphis. My Ph.D. thesis involved extending what had been a long-standing conjecture of Paul Erdos and Hans Heilbronn from integers to groups (the conjecture had been open for over 30 years and was established in the mid-90s; I merely carried this a step further to finite groups).
My research interests are primarily in Additive Combinatorics, but more generally in Combinatorial Number Theory. Beyond Combinatorics and Number Theory, other areas of interest include: Graph Theory, Operations Research, and Algebra. A list of publications can be seen at my website.
In addition to teaching classes, my professional activities include writing reviews for the American Mathematical Society and serving as the Calculus 2 liaison for Pitt's College in High School Program. Additionally, I am an active member of the Allegheny Mountain Section of the Mathematical Association of America.
