Abstract or Additional Information

In the theory of moduli spaces and in the geometric representation theory it is necessary to enlarge the category of varieties (or schemes) to the 2-category of algebraic stacks. Very roughly speaking, a stack is a variety with an attachment of an algebraic group to every point thereof. I will give the definition and the most important examples of stacks.
