Abstract or Additional Information
I will discuss the problem of finding an optimal conductivity tensor field minimizing thermal compliance for a given balanced distribution of heat sources and sinks.
The heat sources are expressed as objects more general than Radon measures. The solutions to the optimization problem are quite explicitly expressed in terms of the data.
Our work is based on a similar foundation as the earlier work of Bouchitte and Buttazzo (JEMS 2001). Although the general problem of finding the optimality conditions and solving the existence problem was addressed there (in a more general setting for vectorial functions u), there are some differences I will discuss.
