Moduli spaces of stable curves, Gromov-Witten varieties, and the quantum K-theory ring

In preparation for the next week's talk by Leonardo Mihalcea, I will discuss the basic ingredients and results involved in the definition of the quantum K-theory ring (for homogeneous spaces) and some examples concerning the computation of the structure constants.
