ABSTRACT: The classical Mean Value Property of harmonic functions has been a crossroad of different areas of mathematics such as Potential Theory, Function Theory, Probability and PDE's. It turns out that some pieces of beautiful mathematics have surprising connections to the Mean Value Property and the list of distinguished contributors contains Gauss, Blaschke, Koebe, Privalov, Volterra, Kellogg, Littlewood and many others. In this talk, we will give an overview of the MVP including background, variants and applications.
