Abstract or Additional Information
In 2007, Goebel and Japon Pineda introduced the notion of mean nonexpansive mappings on metric spaces (with Banach spaces being of particular interest) in order to obtain new theorems in metric fixed point theory. We will give an introduction to the class of mean nonexpansive maps and present some basic yet interesting properties related to fixed point theory.
