Mostow rigidity: an introduction

I will give an introduction to Mostow rigidity, one of the keystones of the study of hyperbolic manifolds.  The main goal is to communicate what the eponymous rigidity property *is*, and to give some idea of why having this property makes hyperbolic manifolds special.  The talk is intended to be as general audience-friendly as possible.
