I am so happy to be working in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh. I’m from Philadelphia, but moved to Pittsburgh for my undergraduate degree.I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, with a BA in Media and Professional Communications. I’m so excited for a great year ahead!

Hello and thank you for making me feel so welcome in the math department! I am very excited to be here as the new academic program manager. Prior to joining the department, I served as the undergraduate program administrator in Industrial Engineering for four years. Before coming to Pitt, I also worked as a member of the Logistics and Operations Team in Admissions and Financial Aid at Carnegie Mellon University. This is where I discovered that I was well suited for a career in higher education as I enjoy working with students, faculty, and the university community.

I hold a BS in Child Development and Family Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Post-graduation, I lived in Philadelphia and served as the director of a child care center at the Woodlynde School. After relocating to Pittsburgh with my husband in 1993, I monitored and licensed day care facilities in 23 counties across western Pennsylvania for the Department of Public Welfare.

I have two children currently attending the University and appreciate the opportunity to have them close. You will likely meet them sometime as they're are frequent visitors to my office. I enjoy music, reading and jigsaw puzzles, as well as spending time at the beach. My husband and I live close to the University and enjoy our lively household of two dogs, two cats, and frequent visits from college students. Please stop by Thackeray 306 to say hello at any time!

Thank you for making my time in Pittsburgh an enjoyable experience! After just a year and a half of living in Pittsburgh and working as the graduate administrator in department, , I’m now moving on to a new chapter of my life sooner than expected and also unexpectedly in the Washington, DC area. When I came to Pitt, I had no prior knowledge of Pittsburgh, but I am thankful that many of you helped me feel at home here and took time to get to know me.

Thank you especially to the other staff in the department, and most notably Carol Miller, who spent time getting to know me over lunches and in between work responsibilities, to show me that I’ve been valued and appreciated as part of the staff team.  Thank you also to all of the graduate students in our department who have shown me so much appreciation through kind words and gifts. I have thoroughly enjoyed helping each of you navigate the University so you could focus on your coursework, pass your milestones, and write your dissertations, and I am thankful to have been a part of your academic journeys.

I hope to keep in touch with all of you by connecting on LinkedIn.
