Abstract or Additional Information
The Zombie Apocalypse is nigh. The only way to prevent this epidemiological
disaster is with careful realistic mathematical models. I will present
several models based on population dynamics that show the dynamics of
zombie outbreaks. Careful attention to data gathered in the field (Night of
the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Shawn of the Dead) will allow us to
construct predictive models of these increasingly common infestations. We
will contrast outbreaks of the Zombius Romerica with those of Vampires. We
develop some new models of vampire attacks that indicate that there may be
cycles of outbreaks that have periods of hundreds of years.
