Pitt Day of Giving is Tuesday, February 23!
The Department of Mathematics has been chosen as one of 5 departments in the Dietrich School to be eligible to win the Dean’s Challenge this year. If 50 supporters give to our department’s cause, we will receive an additional $2,000 of support from Dean Kathleen Blee.
Our fundraising efforts will provide funding for undergraduate research opportunities in mathematics. Faculty-mentored research experiences provide students with incomparable opportunities to be pioneers, contemplating questions for which answers are not known; to pull together concepts they’ve learned throughout their education; and to gain confidence from persevering through intellectual challenges.
Your gift will make undergraduate research opportunities a possibility for Mathematics students, allowing them to engage in focused summer research experiences.
